Description:

One fine day Statesman was battling Paragon City's latest threat, a mad scientist who had found a way to weaponize common pepper, Dr. Piquance! During a confrontation in a restaurant, the doctor blasted Statesman in the face with his Spice Rifle, causing him to sneeze into a bowl of lettuce. As the battle moved on, a beggar was able to sneak into the empty kitchen and help himself to a free salad. Thanks to Statesman's "contribution" to the dish, that beggar become Powerthrust!

Where other men's spiritual energy, or "ki," is like a flowing river, Powerthrust's is a raging fire! Even the simplest excercises in healing or empowerment produce drastically improved results when used by Powerthrust. And the "raging fire" is no mere metaphor, dear reader, for the strongest of his techniques can quite literally burn the wicked in the fires of justice! His strength is such that he wears steel gloves and boots, the latter of which is hated by the city because sparks from his footfalls keep starting fires.
