The number of 11th Generation Paragon Protectors that were engineered to be psionic were kept intentionally low, given the failure that Crey experienced with mass-psychics back in the 7th Generation. Unfortunately, one of these has fallen victim to the Awakened's mental corruption.<br><br>After their head swells and they remove their helmet, corrupted Paragon Protector's often go through hostile identity deficit, where they are unable to identify who they are and will consume other's minds in-order to sustain their own mental self-image.
